On behalf of the CONFERENCE ORGANISING COMMITTEE, COC, I am
pleased to announce the 2008 ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE of our great
association, the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of
Nigeria (AGPMPN).
Tagged EDO 2008 – THE HEARTBEAT CONFERENCE, it is scheduled
to hold in the ancient city of Benin,
Edo State
from 12th – 16th March 2008, at the Oba Akenzua II,
Cultural Centre.
The ancient city of Benin
is the acclaimed cradle of black civilization and the capital of Edo
State, the Heartbeat of the nation.
It is located in the South – South geopolitical zone of Nigeria and readily
accessed from the west, east and north by road and by air.
Benin city is situated in the tropical rain forest belt and has two distinct seasons –
Rainy and Dry (Harmattan) with the latter spanning October to March. Benin city
has a number of tourist attractions and represents the nexus of the renowned
and rich Bini Culture.

ACHIEVING THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS; THE ROLE OF PRIVATE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERSis carefully chosen to highlight the important roles that private medical
practitioners have to play in achieving the Millennium Development Goals by year
2015.
